The Ghana Association of Social Worker currently has a membership of 400.

Membership is categorized into Full Membership which is open to Social workers who have completed an accredited course to study in Social Work leading at least a Diploma in Social work or its equivalence, Associate Membership which is holders of certificate in Social Work or its equivalence and holders of a Bachelors Degree in Social Work related subject or allied professions with at least one year Social Work experience in any recognized Social Work or welfare organization upon the recommendation in writing by at least two full members of the Association, Student Membership which is open to students who are undergoing a course in Social Work leading to at least a certificate in social work or its equivalence at any accredited institution, Honorary Membership which may be offered to anybody who has made significant contribution to promote the profession of Social Work and Corporate Membership which is open to any duly registered NGO whose activities promote and complement Social Work.

Prospective members may apply for membership upon the submission of a completed membership application forms obtainable at the National Secretariat of the Association at Osu Opposite Laminex in Accra.

The completed application form must be accompanied by 2 passport photos and ¢100,000 non refundable registration fee and ¢240,000 dues for the first year of membership if membership application is successful.

The prescribed membership registration fees and dues may be paid into the Bank Account of the Association at Ghana Commercial Bank. The Account Name is GHANA ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL WORKERS.
